Materials & Production

At Ampère, it is important for us not to use real leather. Simply put, we don’t like to harm animals and we care about the wellbeing of our planet. Our designs are all drawn and brainstormed in the heart of downtown LA’s Arts District. We develop countless of prototypes per season but only a few are hand selected by our team. The bags are then sent to production overseas in China where we only collaborate with factories that are in line with our ethos and heavily regulated by our team of specialist and quality control managers. The materials we use are a specialized form of non leather goods, as we call it “Vegan Leather.” The scientific term for this is PU (polyurethane) and/or PVC (polyvinylchloride). In addition to being Vegan, sustainable materials are constantly sourced in design when necessary.
We strive to ensure our products are sourced ethically and responsibly. That’s why each season, we send a team of specialist and quality control managers to perform well needed tests to make sure that the product you receive is in good condition. Last but not least, we test the wear and tear of our materials to ensure that our bags are as functional and resistant as they are fashionable.
